Arrow Electronics announced today that its President and CEO, Sean Kerins, has officially stepped down, and board member William “Bill” Austen will temporarily assume the role of CEO.
In an internal email to employees worldwide, Sean Kerins wrote, “After nearly 18 wonderful years at Arrow Electronics, I have decided to step down. Leading this great company has been the most honorable experience of my career.” He specifically thanked Arrow’s employees, customers, and suppliers, and expressed confidence in the company’s future: “I have always admired everyone’s unwavering commitment to each other, to our customers and suppliers, a commitment that will continue to drive Arrow toward an even brighter future.”

Kerins’ departure is not related to the company’s financial or other senior management changes. According to Arrow’s official statement, he will continue to assist the company with the leadership transition in an advisory capacity for six months.
Bill Austen, who will assume the role of interim CEO, has been a member of Arrow's board of directors since 2020 and previously served as president and CEO of Bemis Company, possessing extensive operational and leadership experience. Board Chairman Steven Gunby stated, "We have full confidence in our existing leadership team and thank Bill for taking on this important role at this crucial time."
